Older & Reckless
features a
Nia Workshop with Martha Randall
Nia is a movement class FOR ALL using form, freedom and an eclectic range of music to celebrate self-expression.
No experience required!
Nia is a mindful body practice that incorporates 3 martial arts, 3 dance arts and 3 healing arts into a facilitated experience of personal expression, dynamic physicality and playful communal dance. We explore the discipline of form and the adventure of freedom to an eclectic range of music – excellent for those older and reckless people who have always wanted to dance or tend to only dance in their living rooms alone while watching “So You Think You Can Dance.”
Martha, a graduate of York’s Dance Program in 1979 has performed as an ‘older’ dancer with Claudia Moore’s Moonhorse Dance Theatre and will present a piece of choreography by Sylvie Bouchard in the new year. She has been teaching Nia in Toronto for 12 years and leads Nia White Belt trainings throughout Canada, the first step towards becoming a Nia teacher.
